Chef Margarita Fores for L’Innovation de Nespresso

Nespresso is now in the Philippines!  John and I were invited to one of their launch dinners at Hey Handsome, where we were surprised to be greeted not by Chef Nicco Santos, but by Margarita Fores (she hid behind the TV monitor as guests started coming in so as not to spoil her surprise — just one clue as to how down to earth she is despite being Asia’s Best Female Chef 2016.).

As it turns out, Nespresso had orchestrated an exiting twist to our dinner experience, dubbed “L’Innovation de Nespresso,” by asking chefs Nicco Santos and Margarita Fores to literally switch kitchens.  As we enjoyed the 5-course feast Chef Gaita had prepared for us, there was another group over at Grace Park enjoying dinner by Nicco Santos.

Everything was fantastic, but I especially loved Chef Gaita’s Philippine Seabass Sinigang sa Miso with Inasal Heirloom Vegetables, her take on Hey Handsome’s Seabass Otah + Nasi Lemak.

Super enjoyed the Nespresso dinner with my table mates (left to right): James and Jackie Go, Ross Pesengco, Patrick Pesengco of Nespresso Philippines, Jackie Ong and Joanne Co of Abensons (one of Nespresso’s local retail partners), and my dates, the hubs.  Ha.

If you are a Nespresso user, you no longer have to hoard your capsules abroad.  You can now get them in Rustans Makati, Rustans Shangri-la, Abensons BGC, or the Nespresso showroom in BGC.  You can also order online via and enjoy free delivery for orders worth P3,000 or more.

And if you don’t own a machine yet, you can get your very own Nespresso machine for as low as P6,500 at these same retailers.  Nespresso machines and capsules make excellent wedding gifts as well as Christmas gifts.  (Arpeggio is my fave – hint, hint!)
