This is the easiest mug cake recipe ever, and it’s so good! I could serve this to dinner guests and they’d never know I “baked” these in a microwave.
Aren’t they gorgeous? I basically follow this awesome recipe, except I use unsweetened pure cocoa instead of processed cocoa powder, and add sliced almonds instead of powdered sugar. Here’s how to make your own:
- Mix together these ingredients in a microwave safe mug: 1/4 cup Nutella, 1/2 – 3/4 tablespoon unsweetened pure cocoa powder, and 1 large egg.
- Microwave on high for 1 minute and 10 seconds if making just 1 mug. You’ll have to adjust the time if you microwave more than 1 mug at a time.
- Remove from microwave. Cake should be set, but still moist on top. Allow to cool for 15-20 minutes, then replate into smaller mugs, teacups, or ramekins.
P.S. Do you have any mug cake recipes that you can share? I’ve been experimenting with almond butter mug cakes, but haven’t come up with anything worth sharing yet. I’ll definitely let you know when I’ve had a breakthrough!
