Johanna uses premium ingredients and fresh, local produce – organic, whenever possible – for her entire product line. The selections are not necessarily low-calorie, low-fat, or any other kind of diet food, but more of high-quality, real food that nourishes the soul and senses.
To make hummus, for example, Johanna uses organic chickpeas with fresh tahini, EVOO, and spices. The addition of chipotle peppers in Mexican adobo sauce gives the hummus an extra kick that would make any hummus lover go gaga!
I love eating Johanna’s hummus with pita bread, sandwiches, raw veggie sticks, or even on its own, with a spoon. It’s soooo good. My only issue with it is that I love it so much, it never lasts for more than a day in our kitchen, even if I don’t share.
Check out Real Girl Toy Kitchen’s website and Facebook page for orders and inquiries. They also make classic hummus, tapenade, pesto, chimichurri, guacamole (seasonal), puttanesca, and organic vegetable soups.
