Hanoi Eats: Cau Go Vietnamese Cuisine

I can’t remember if we had dinner at Cau Go our first or second night in Hanoi, but I do remember it being a really good one.

The restaurant is located on the 5th floor of an old building right by Hoan Kiem Lake, and it’s not much to look at from the outside, but it is really lovely inside!

IMG_1931According to their official website, “Cau Go is located in one of the original 36 streets of the Hanoi old quarter and trading center. The street is still home to a number of ancient buildings as well as a vibrant food scene.”

IMG_1997My cousins and I enjoyed delicious and authentic Vietnamese cuisine, and the restaurant had a lot of vegetarian options as well as seafood dishes!  I had pomelo salad, vegetable spring rolls, deep fried tofu with crispy lemongrass and chili, prawn cakes, and fresh coconut juice.  Serving sizes were on the small side, but prices were reasonable.

Cau Go also has a open-air restaurant on the 6th floor, which is on top of the building, but it isn’t as nearly as nice as the dining area on the 5th floor.

My cousins and I were all in agreement that was probably one of our best meals in Hanoi, and I’d highly recommend it.
