Last weekend, John and I got to try the buffet at Flavors, Holiday Inn & Suites Makati. We were there upon the invitation of Rachel Alejandro and Chef Barni Alejandro-Rennebeck, the sexy sisters behind The Sexy Chef.
For two weekends only (May 23-24 and May 30-31), The Sexy Chef will be serving some of their specialty dishes as part of the Flavors buffet. There are 5 Sexy Chef dishes in all, and of course I tried each one of them!
I started with these California Maki Pinwheels, made with whole wheat bread instead of rice. They make such a good appetizer! I think I had about 10 of these! 😉
Next I had the Tantanmen with malunggay noodles and LOTS of mushrooms! Yum! This was already a familiar taste to me since I had tried and enjoyed The Sexy Chef’s vegetarian tantanmen awhile back. The one they serve at the buffet isn’t vegetarian, so I just had mine without chicken.
The third dish we enjoyed was this Quinoa Fried “Rice” with Shrimp. John really enjoyed this (and in facts he wants me to order this via The Sexy Chef delivery) because he is trying to cut back on rice, and with this dish, he doesn’t miss it at all.
The Sexy Chef also serves their Baked Salmon with Spinach, which is creamy and delicious, sure to please all salmon lovers! The secret is in the low-fat but still oh-so-creamy bechamel whipped up by Chef Barni.
We ended our meal on a sweet note, with The Sexy Chef’s Paleo Fudge Brownies… OMG! So fudgy and good that I cannot believe they’re really paleo. The Sexy Chef should sell these goodies by the box, I’d order them in a heartbeat, and they’d make such a good gift for health-conscious friends.
The Sexy Chef’s specialty dishes will be available for lunch and dinner at Flavors at Holiday Inn Makati this coming weekend, May 30-31, 2015. Visit Holiday Inn Makati’s Facebook Page for details or call 909-8888 to book a table.
