Hi Mamas and Dadas! Have you started planning summer activities for your kids yet? March is just a few days away, and my 6-year-old, Jacob, will be out of school by the 13th. I’m the type of mom who doesn’t believe in overscheduling, but I don’t want Jacob to be idle during summer vacation, either.
Jacob has been playing basketball every Saturday, so he’ll continue to do that, along with swimming lessons a few times a week. Other than sports, though, I’m still looking for a fun and enriching non-academic class, camp, or activity for him to join. I also have a 1-year-old, Naomi, and I’m thinking of maybe enrolling her in a music or play class.
Which is why I’m taking my kids to Expo Kid 2015 at The Manansala, Rockwell this Saturday!
A gathering of the metro’s most exciting summer activity providers on February 28, 2015, from 10am to 7pm, at the Loft in Manansala, Rockwell, it is the objective of EXPO KID 2015: BEST SUMMER EVER! for children of all ages to experience as many different kinds of activities as possible to stimulate their minds, energize their bodies, build their self-esteem, and nourish their spirits.
Organized by my friend Janice of Mommy Mundo, Expo Kid is an annual event featuring all sorts of fun activities for kids. Here are just some of the exhibitors:
- The Bento Mommas
- Ready Steady Go Kids
- Engineering for Kids
- Sparkle Lab
- Party Painters
- Trumpets Philippines
- Fun Ranch
- Learning Library
- Enderun Extension
- Belasco Unlimited Skills
- Galileo Enrichment Learning Program
It’ll be good chance to “try before we buy” by getting my kids to sample activities by different providers, so I’ll know exactly which classes to enroll them in for summer. (Here’s what happened at last year’s Expo Kid, in case you’d like to see.)
The event will also feature a Mompreneur Market where you can shop for unique mom and kid essentials that may not be available at the malls. In my experience with past Expo Kid events, a lot of the vendors also offer special discounts and great bargains exclusively during the event. You’ll find vendors such as Sandpuff, Fatty Brain Toys, Wonder World, Princess and the Pea, Fun Poly Dots, Pottly ‘n Tubby, R-Trevi, Tomatoberry, Nurture Nook, Mommy Matters, and a lot more.
And if your kid is between 6 months to 3 years old, you might want to join the special activity with Maricel Laxa-Pangilinan. Text 0908-8657245 to register; the first 200 registrants will receive a gift pack from Huggies
Entrance is FREE and everyone is welcome! Hope to see you all at Expo Kid!
