Green Lunch Finds: Kale Chips by Take Root

Okay, I’ve found THE BEST “junk” food EVER.

IMG_3686Have you tried these kale mix chips by Take Root?  They are SO GOOD!  And almost unbelievably, almost impossibly, they are totally healthy too.  Here’s how the chips are made, as explained in Take Root’s website:

Our highly addicting kale chips are made with care, over a lengthy 12-hour process. Each leaf is carefully picked, washed and massaged with a blend of vegetables, nuts and spices then slowly dried to crisp perfection to preserve essential nutrients and enzymes. So flavorful, you won’t believe they’re vegan! Low in calories and fat, but packed with vitamins (A, C and K) and minerals (calcium, potassium and iron).

The kale chips come in two flavors: vegan cheeze (bell peppers, tree nuts, nutritional yeast, and sea salt) and vegan sour kream & chive (tree nuts, onion, apple cider vinegar, nutritional yeast, chive, herbs, and sea salt).  I feel absolutely no guilt or remorse after finishing a large pack in one sitting (the cheeze is my favorite), and even my picky 6-year-old Jacob says these are “so yummy, mama!”

I’ve never met the owners of Take Root but nevertheless, I can’t help but feel proud of this Philippine-made product.  .So proud of you, Take Root!  Best chips ever!

*Special thanks to my friend Ross, who first shared her kale chips with me
